Volunteer - Christmas Present Wrapper/Delivery
Forward Leeds is a drug and alcohol service for adults and young people in Leeds. We help people choose not to misuse alcohol and drugs and reduce risk taking behaviours through dedicated prevention, intervention and support. Our Family Plus team supports the families and children of those going through recovery by running groups and activities for families, one to one sessions and support building relationships.
We are looking for a group of volunteers to help us wrap and deliver Christmas presents to the children of service users that we support throughout the year. Volunteers will be paired with a member of staff from the Family Plus team and will drive to houses in an area of Leeds (in separate cars due to Covid-19) delivering the gifts. All of the Christmas presents being delivered have been kindly donated by Malcolm Michaels Butchers at Kirkgate Market, especially for the children of the Family Plus team. Please note that volunteers will need to have access to their own vehicle for this role (you can claim expenses for mileage incurred as part of the role).
If you would like to get involved but do not have a car, you can instead join us at one of the Barca sites to help us wrap the Christmas presents before they are delivered. If you have a flair for wrapping presents and want to spend time getting into the Christmas spirit with others, this role would be perfect for you. Our sites are Covid-19 secure, face coverings will be provided and there will be strict social distancing measures in place.
After a difficult year for all, this is a great chance to put a smile on a family's face and spread some Christmas cheer!
