The South Tyneside Adult Recovery Service Hospital Liaison Role works alongside South Tyneside District Hospital with follow-up work in the community. The service provides brief and extended interventions for alcohol misuse to support a reduction in pressures on South Tyneside District Hospital.

We are looking to recruit a full time Alcohol and Hospital Liaison Worker to support our team.

You will work as part of a team in the community and in South Tyneside District Hospital providing support to people who present with alcohol misuse problems and then undertake community follow up interventions.  You will act as a lead within South Tyneside Adult Recovery Service for service users with alcohol misuse problems and work alongside colleagues to enable positive behaviour change.

You will support service users to access appropriate support and guidance and will act as an interface between South Tyneside Adult Recovery Service and South Tyneside District Hospital. You will also be involved in providing relevant training to hospital staff as required.  You will need experience of working with vulnerable people with alcohol and/or substance misuse issues. The ability to travel across the area to support service users in the community is essential. A relevant professional qualification is desirable.
