Humankind are an established provider of substance misuse, health young people and families, employment training and education and housing services. In the last 3 years we have doubled in size. In 2018/19 we have a projected turnover of circa £36 million pounds and will employ in excess of 900 staff, expanding from a turnover of £27 million pounds and 700 staff in a matter of one year.

To help us achieve these ambitions, we are recruiting for a Criminal Justice Worker to join our North Yorkshire Horizons service, working in Northallerton.  North Yorkshire Horizons is a service made up of several key partners including Humankind, enabling the development of a peer led, recovery community. Providing a safe environment in which people can develop the life skills, and confidence to achieve and maintain recovery and abstinence from their substance misuse, successfully re-integrate into society, and become active, contributing citizens.

Based at Northallerton, you will be required to provide cell intervention/arrest referral, community support and assertive outreach services to substance misusers identified through pro-active contacts carried out in Police/Magistrate cells, and following Prison release to the locality.    In addition to delivering a range of PSI interventions, the post holder will also facilitate court imposed Drug Rehabilitation Requirements (DRR’s) and Alcohol Treatment Requirements (ATR’s), including the group work element and oversee the prescribed treatment for a caseload of service users within the Criminal Justice system.  There may be occasions where you will support other hubs in North Yorkshire due to demand or staff cover to assist the overall project.
