Humankind is an established provider of substance misuse, health young people and families, employment, training and education and housing services. In the last 4 years we have trebled in size. In 2019/20 we had a turnover of circa £45 million pounds and employ in excess of 1000 staff, expanding from a turnover of £27 million pounds and 700 staff in a matter of two years.

North Yorkshire Horizons is a service made up of several key partners led by Humankind, enabling the development of a peer led, recovery community. Providing a safe environment in which people can develop their life skills, and confidence to achieve and maintain recovery and abstinence from their substance misuse, successfully re-integrate into society, and become active, contributing citizens. 

Based within our Harrogate Hub, we are seeking bank staff to support clients accessing treatment services across the Harrogate area. The role will involve working as an integral member of a dynamic multi agency team developing and delivering comprehensive and tailored individual interventions, including delivery of a full range of structured one to one support.

We are looking to recruit bank staff who will provide support to the Harrogate project during the hours of 9 - 5, although hours offered may vary and can be flexible. The post holder(s) will be required to provide holistic support to adult service users with substance misuse issues, supporting them to move through integrated recovery oriented services and increase opportunities for service users to achieve sustainable treatment outcomes. With a varied and challenging remit, the successful candidate(s) will: contribute to interventions, delivering effective liaison with partner agencies; carry out motivational assessments; manage a caseload; deliver effective engagement and harm reduction interventions. The ideal candidate(s) will have a sound knowledge of treatment interventions and the recovery agenda, coupled with experience of working with substance users.
