Step Forward Tees Valley is an exciting employment programme funded by the National Lottery community fund and European social fund until July 2022. Working as part of a partnership with voluntary and community sector delivery partners, Step Forward Tees Valley offers flexible support to help adults overcome physical, psychological, financial and skills-related barriers and progress towards employment, training, education and job-search, whilst at the same time helping to combat a range of social issues including poverty and social exclusion.

We are looking for an experienced individual to undertake a contract compliance and monitoring role within this exciting established project.

As a claims and compliance officer you will work alongside others in the finance team, the SFTV hubs and the programmes management team (Northern inclusion consortium) to ensure that all evidence submitted by the project hubs with their financial claims is compliant with European Social Funding/BBO requirements and financial claims are submitted to external deadlines.

You will assist the SFTV teams with all aspects relating to funding eligibility and compliance undertaking activities in relation to the implementation of the claim and monitoring systems to support with the delivery of the project. You will be solutions focused, identifying and developing robust processes that can support claims compliance.

A flexible approach and the ability to cover a range of tasks is essential. You will have a keen eye for detail identifying claimable and ineligible expenditure, support in preparing financial claims and checking and collecting the evidence submitted for the financial claims meets funder’s requirements. For example, participant expenditure, timesheets, invoices, mileage forms, and salary information.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and a proven track record in responding to external audits, financial queries and monitoring requests.

There is a level of travel required for this position which can be negotiated with the successful candidate however a willingness and flexibility to travel when needed is an essential for this role
