Humankind are an established provider of substance misuse, health young people and families, employment training and education and housing services. In the last 3 years we have doubled in size. In 2018/19 we have a projected turnover of circa £36 million pounds and will employ in excess of 900 staff, expanding from a turnover of £27 million pounds and 700 staff in a matter of one year.
 
To help us achieve these ambitions, we are recruiting for two full time Youth Workers for the Positive Futures programme in Calderdale.  Calderdale Recovery Steps alongside Branching Out supports adults, children, young people and families across Calderdale with drug and alcohol issues. 

This post is fixed term until 31/03/2021 and subject to continued funding after this.
 
The successful post holder will match our organisational ambition and commitment to provide the highest standards of service delivery across Calderdale, engaging with local communities and supporting their priorities.
 
Main duties of the role include:
• Working with young people aged 10-21 across all localities of Calderdale, you will be delivering a programme of exciting, engaging and inspiring positive diversionary activities for targeted individuals & communities who need the most support.
• You will also act as a mentor and source of support as these young people grow and develop into young adults. This is with the aim of enhancing their wellbeing, education and employment opportunities, and reducing anti-social, offending and/or risk taking behavior.
• You will work loosely alongside Branching Out – Young Persons Substance Misuse service.
• To deliver street based and targeted outreach to engage with young people
• Represent Humankind at events, panels and meetings as appropriate
