South Tyneside Adult Recovery Service offers ways for local people with drug and alcohol problems to become free from their dependence. We also want to reduce the problems that substance misuse causes to families, friendships, workplaces and communities in South Tyneside.

Details of role:
Volunteer opportunity to support the south Tyneside adult recovery service, volunteering within the BRiC (Building recovery in community’s) team

The Building recovery in community team, provide structured workshops using PSI interventions, linked to SMART recovery, AA and other changing thought programmes linked to substance misuse.

Previous experience of SMART, AA, NA, PSI and 12 step approach is desirable to ensure a full holistic recovery programme is delivered.

Personal qualities:
To have confidence and excellent verbal communication skills within a group work setting
To promote all aspects of recovery and South Tyneside Adult Recovery Service 
To work within strict confidential guidelines and comply with the appropriate Humankind policies and procedures
To be able to commit to one full day or two half days.
To be able to attend and complete all induction sessions and relevant training session when required
