Wear Recovery is a service made up of several key partners including Humankind, enabling the development of a peer led, recovery community. Providing a safe environment in which people can develop the life skills, and confidence to achieve and maintain recovery and abstinence from their substance misuse, successfully re-integrate into society, and become active, contributing citizens.
Based within our Harm Reduction Team, you will be required to work as part of a team to provide invaluable harm reduction advice and information, assessment, and case management to substance misusers (Drug and Alcohol) at different stages of their recovery journey. The role will predominantly be based in Sunderland city centre with some work in Houghton and Washington required each week. 
The post holder will be expected to work closely with partner agencies, pharmacies and outreach locations across Wearside.
Key Duties:
o Provide Harm Reduction assessment, advice and interventions to those using Drugs, Alcohol and Performance and Image Enhancing substances.
o Care coordination and planning.
o Operation of Needle Exchange.
o Proactive outreach, community engagement and promotion of BBV testing, awareness and vaccination.
o Comprehensive assessment and Brief interventions
