Humankind are an established provider of substance misuse, health young people and families,
employment training and education and housing services. In the last 3 years we have doubled in size. In
2018/19 we have a projected turnover of circa £36 million pounds and will employ in excess of 900 staff,
expanding from a turnover of £27 million pounds and 700 staff in a matter of one year.
In June 2018 we re-branded from DISC to Humankind and over the last 12 months we have developed a new 5-
year strategy outlining our ambitious plans for the future.
To help us achieve these ambitions, we are recruiting for a full-time Aftercare Recovery Co-ordinator to be based in
our County Durham Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service. The service supports adults, children, young people and
families across County Durham with drug and alcohol issues. The successful post holder will match our
organisational ambition and commitment to provide the highest standards of service delivery across County Durham,
engaging with local communities and supporting their priorities.
Main duties of the role include:
? Working as part of an integrated team providing collaborative case management and interventions to support
service users to progress and sustain their individual recovery.
? Working effectively with service colleagues, community organisations and stakeholders across the full range
of settings to maximise sustainable recovery capital and community opportunities for individuals.
? Providing holistic and structured recovery coordination and both group and one to one psychosocial
interventions to service clients, their families and carers.
