Humankind are an established provider of substance misuse, health young people and families, employment training and education and housing services. In the last 3 years we have doubled in size. In 2018/19 we have a projected turnover of circa £36 million pounds and will employ in excess of 900 staff, expanding from a turnover of £27 million pounds and 700 staff in a matter of one year.
 
We are recruiting for a full time HOPE Worker to be based in our central Halifax Hub. Calderdale Recovery Steps supports adults, children, young people and families across Calderdale with drug and alcohol issues.  
 
The successful post holder will match our organisational ambition and commitment to provide the highest standards of service delivery across Calderdale, engaging with local communities and supporting their priorities.
 
Main duties of the role include:
• To deliver and support the development and co-ordination of a targeted outreach, in-reach and cross-reach activity, in relation to health prevention and education.
• Deliver effective and immediate responses to minimise harm and reduce relapse whilst encouraging individuals to engage with a recovery plan covering all aspects of their life.
• To support duty activity in Calderdale, including walk in assessments, taking referrals and triages, supporting reception and clinical staff with service delivery.
• To actively engage service users and deliver appropriate interventions, such as advice and information, brief intervention and extended brief intervention, enhancing motivation for change and treatment readiness where relevant.
