This position has now closed. Why not check out our current jobs or volunteer positions.

Humankind’s Independent Living Unit offers a range of housing-related support services, advice and guidance to help people obtain accommodation and progress towards a sustained independent lifestyle in the community.  We work with a wide variety of clients, often with histories including substance misuse, offending, mental ill health and homelessness, to overcome barriers and achieve social inclusion.  An opportunity has arisen for a Community Integration Project Worker to join our expanding Cumbria Offender Service Team.
Working across Barrow and the South Lakes region, you will guide and support people to obtain and sustain accommodation through personalised support interventions to avoid eviction, maximise income and minimise debts, improve independent living skills, maximise life opportunities, reduce social isolation and promote improved health and wellbeing.

The role involves carrying a busy and varied caseload, and the successful candidate will need to demonstrate their ability to manage this. However, the rewards in helping people to move out of the Criminal Justice System are great.
Ideally you will have experience of support or advice work in this or a related area and/or experience of work within the Criminal Justice field.
