We have a new exciting, yet challenging, role for a motivated, enthusiastic, positive and skilled individual.
Our Adult Drug & Alcohol Treatment and Recovery Services in Barnsley are seeking to recruit an additional BRiC Worker.  These posts are key to building recovery in communities and will promote visible recovery within Barnsley. 
The post holder will have lead responsibility for building employment, education and apprenticeship opportunities, working in partnership with Barnsley Recovery Steps, Northern College and other key stakeholders and partners in the area.
Main Duties of the role will include:
• To offer sustained recovery support to service users accessing recovery support
• Develop pathways towards employment through identification of a broad range of opportunities, within the Barnsley Recovery Steps service, Northern College and with external organisations and businesses
• To connect service users with local communities, using an asset based community development approach
• Delivering a robust and varied combination of recovery initiatives such as access to mutual aid, structured group work programmes, one to one support, and advocacy to support service users to access assets and resources in their local area.
• To promote volunteering and peer mentor opportunities both within the service and wider afield.
• To work in collaboration with the others and independently on the development and facilitation of specific therapeutic workshops and group work with the teams to provide a compliment of courses and group work provision for service users
• Explore and select methods with individuals that are most likely to be effective including mutual aid, group work and other resilience and strength based approaches
• To lead on our recovery offer including events, promotion work and other diversionary activity programmes
