We are recruiting for a Support Worker to join our Housing Support Services, which offers a range of projects to support and assist people with housing and accommodation related issues within County Durham. 
We provide services to young people and adults with varying levels of need, which includes people with a history of substance misuse, offending behaviour, anti-social behaviour and mental health issues.  We offer a range of appropriate housing related support, advice and guidance which sustains service users through the transition of change to an independent lifestyle in appropriate housing.
Working in close partnership with the key agencies across Durham you will support service users to:
• Access and maintain appropriate accommodation
• Develop domestic and independent living skills
• Build confidence and decision making skills
This opportunity will provide valuable experience for anyone who wishes to develop their skills and knowledge around supporting people in the housing arena and broaden their knowledge of the advice and support field.
Ideally you will be:-
• Able to communicate effectively with a range of people
• Understanding and empathetic of others
• Able to share skills and knowledge in a supportive manner
• Self-motivated and reliable
