Role title Service User Influence and Involvement (SUII) Volunteer- Barnsley

Brief description of project
Barnsley Recovery Steps offers a range of free, confidential and non-judgmental services for adults aged 18+ and their families whose lives are affected by drugs and/or alcohol. Our aim is to support people to stay safe and live happier, healthy lives, free from drugs and alcohol.
Details of Role (Tasks)
Barnsley Recovery Steps are looking for a volunteer to support SUII. The role will involve engaging service users to gather feedback, and suggestions on the service and supporting the implementation of these.
Task to include:
To facilitate SUII meetings
To set up and maintain a 'you said we did board'.
To engage with a wide range of service users from across Barnsley Recovery Steps hubs.
To be a Service User and Involvement (SUII) representative for the project
To encourage and support service users to take part in SUII
Promote SUII amongst the staff teams
Maintaining a SUII evidence file as per policy
Excellent verbal and written skills and confidence to approach and engage with people
Confident computer skills
Ability to work to instruction and on own initiative
Honest and reliable
Commitment to attend training and supervision
This post requires a flexible approach with commitment to one day or two 1/2 days a week.
