Brief description of project
Barnsley Recovery Steps offers a range of free, confidential and non-judgmental services for adults aged 18+ and their families whose lives are affected by drugs and/or alcohol. Our aim is to support people to stay safe and live happier, healthy lives, free from drugs and alcohol.
Details of Role (Tasks)
We are looking for volunteers to help promote events and activities at all Barnsley Recovery Steps premises and in the community.
This role includes researching, printing and displaying literature in a creative way to promote and raise awareness of the current topical event.
All materials and access to IT systems can be provided however some tasks may be done from home.
This role could include manning stalls at events giving out leaflets and information.
This role could include supporting Service User Involvement & Influence activities and feedback.
The days and hours will vary dependent on the particular event
Examples of events may include- Safeguarding Awareness Week, Dry January, Mental health Awareness, Overdose Awareness Day, Suicide Prevention, Surviving Christmas, Mystery Shop
Confident communication skills
Understanding of the issues faces by people who use substances.
Knowledge of the event subject- desirable but not essential
Able to display effective marketing and promoting skills
Ability to work to instruction and on own initiative
Honest and reliable
