What is it like working for Humankind?
Established in 1984, Humankind (formerly DISC) is a leading North of England Voluntary Organisation which focuses on tackling deprivation and exclusion.
It is our Mission to create services and support to meet people’s complex health and social needs, helping them to build healthier lives that have meaning and value for themselves and their families. We support local people to create stronger, better-connected communities.
As a people led organisation the skills, knowledge and passion of our 1000 strong workforce enables us to put in place creative and flexible services to meet the needs of the communities in which we work.
Our diverse staff members come from a wide range of backgrounds and careers, but all share one common belief - that all people should have the opportunity to realise their potential.
If you are looking to develop your skills, looking for new challenges or looking to progress your career, we can offer you a range of opportunities to help you along your chosen career path, together with a competitive remuneration package, commitment to staff development and training and a friendly and supportive environment.
We value the contribution of all service users, families and carers, partners, stakeholders, commissioners, volunteers and our staff
